Random Wheel Picker

Add your choices, spin the wheel, and let Orbit pick a result. Your everyday decisions stay simple, with no account required.

What is Orbit?

Orbit is a free online random wheel picker and decision tool. Use names for a group selection, choices for a game, or options for everyday random decisions. Start with a wheel, try the horizontal Roulette picker, or flip a coin for heads or tails.

How to use the random wheel

  1. Add names or choices to the entry list.
  2. Customize entries with images or weights if needed.
  3. Press Spin when you are ready.
  4. Orbit randomly selects a result and shows the winner.

Make it your own

Add images to entries, adjust weights, choose a template, or use fullscreen for a group. Import and export your choices, and download a .orbit backup to keep your local wheels and images. Creating a share link publishes a separate read-only snapshot; recipients can make their own copy. No account is required.

After an online visit activates the service worker, the local tools work offline. Creating or opening a new remote share link still requires a connection. Keep a backup before clearing browser storage.

Ways to use Orbit

Use a classroom name picker to choose who goes next, pick an eligible giveaway entry, or select a team member for a task. Try a game picker, decide what food to order, choose a meeting topic, or make a simple yes/no decision. For teams, pick one person at a time and use removal after each result when you need distinct selections.

How Orbit chooses a result

Orbit uses browser Web Crypto to select a result before the animation begins. The wheel or strip then lands on that already selected result; its movement does not decide the winner. With weighted entries enabled, larger weights give an entry a larger share of the selection probability. Coin Flip uses two equally likely outcomes.

Random selection is useful for everyday choices. It does not guarantee a particular outcome or replace the rules and eligibility checks of a giveaway.

Draw and reveal

Roll a handful of visual dice, draw from a standard or custom deck, open a randomly assigned box, or combine independent choices on vertical reels. Each tool selects before its own reveal animation.

Explore Orbit tools

Use a wheel for named choices, Roulette for a horizontal reveal, or Coin for Heads and Tails. Pick stepped numbers, roll dice with a total, make whole teams, or get a quick Yes / No. Each tool handles its own task without requiring an account.

Popular templates

Start with a classroom name list, lunch choices, a game-night wheel, a chore list or a d20 roll. Replace the examples before selecting. Reusing a named wheel template keeps your edits rather than making another copy.

Privacy-first by design

Generating results does not upload your entries or history. Local tools work offline after the service worker activates. A share is an explicit publication; review its labels and images before copying the link. Back up local data you need to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Is Orbit free?

Yes. You can use Orbit's selection tools without paying or creating an account.

How random is the wheel?

The result is chosen with browser Web Crypto independently of the animation. Equal weights give entries equal selection chances; enabled custom weights change those chances.

Can I add images?

Yes. Wheel and custom Roulette entries can include images, with image-only or image-and-text display options. Images are stored locally unless you explicitly publish a share snapshot.

Can entries have different probabilities?

Yes. Enable weighted entries for a wheel or custom Roulette and assign positive weights. Coin Flip and fixed European Roulette use their fixed outcomes.

Can I share a wheel?

Yes. Create a remote share link to a read-only snapshot with its active images. Later changes to your local wheel do not update that snapshot. Anyone with the link can view it or make a copy, so avoid sharing sensitive information.

Does Orbit work offline?

The local tools work offline after the first online visit and service worker activation. New remote shares require an internet connection.

Do I need an account?

No. Wheels, history and settings are saved in your browser, and images use IndexedDB. Download backups for data you want to keep.
