Random Number Picker

Choose a range and draw one or several numbers. Use unique values for a sample without replacement, or allow repeats for independent draws.

Define the values that can be chosen

Minimum and Maximum are inclusive bounds. Step starts at Minimum: a range from 2 to 10 with step 3 contains 2, 5 and 8, not 10. Only whole numbers are supported. Bounds range from −1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000; draw up to 1,000 numbers at once.

Unique values and Allow repeats are opposite settings. For unique draws, Amount cannot exceed the number of values in your stepped range. Sorting changes only the order shown after selection; it does not make a value more likely. With repeats enabled, the same value may appear more than once.

A practical example

To pick five distinct numbered tasks, set Minimum to 1, Maximum to your task count, Amount to 5, and keep Unique values enabled. Check that your task list uses those exact numbers. Copy the result to your notes. The setup link contains only these settings, not previous results.

Selection comes before the reveal

Orbit draws random values through browser Web Crypto. Bounded integer sampling rejects values that would create modulo bias. The chosen result exists before its reveal animation begins. Reduced motion removes that visual movement; it does not change selection probabilities. Independent draws do not compensate for an earlier streak.

On this device, by default

Settings and recent results are kept in this browser. No account is required and generating a result sends no entries or results to a server. Browser storage can be cleared or become unavailable; export a backup for anything you need to keep. Private browsing and another device have separate storage.

After an online visit activates Orbit's service worker, this tool can run offline. Opening a new remote wheel snapshot still needs a connection. Use fullscreen for a group; if your browser does not allow native fullscreen, presentation mode keeps the tool usable.
